Auroth began with my adopted Bull Dog – Mario, who is now ten years old. Although he is less energetic now, as a youth, Mario was full of energy. He was always eager to get out of the house to meet new people and explore new places. His excitement for adventure and the outdoors would result in him pulling me to various destinations and would periodically cause me shoulder pains. Moreover, the quality and designs of the different harnesses we've used over the years became a cause for concern. After very light usage, many of the harnesses began to tear at the pressure points, and the inferior material and poor fitment would cause Mario skin irritation and friction burns.

NATO uses the modular lightweight load-carrying equipment system on our harnesses. It allows for multiple configurations from the attachments of various pouches or dog patches to carrying dog bowls and water bottles. We also reinforced the entire harness with Kevlon double stitching to stop wear and tear at the pressure points.
